This incident is from Jaipur. Here a man named Mahesh Chand hatched a sinister plan to kill his wife in order to get Rs 1.90 crore for insurance. The accused was married to Shalu in the year 2015. Both have a daughter. After some time of marriage, quarrels started between husband and wife and Shalu went to her maternal home. In 2019, she had also filed a case of domestic violence against her husband. Recently he had got Shalu insured. At the same time, the accused also told his wife that he has sought a vow for their happy married life. For this, Shalu will have to go to Hanuman temple for 10 consecutive days without informing anyone. He convinced his wife for this and said that after the fulfillment of the vow, he would bring her home.
After this Shalu started going to the temple with her cousin. But here the matter was not of vow but of a dangerous conspiracy. According to the police, on October 5, when Shalu and her cousin Raju were going to the temple, the S SUV hit their motorcycle. Shalu died on the spot in the incident while Raju succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. After investigation, the police revealed that the accused Mahesh Chand had got Shalu insured for a period of 40 years. Had Shalu died a natural death, her husband would have got Rs 1 crore and if she had died in an accident, the sum insured was Rs 1.90 crore.
Accused Mahesh Chand had given supari to history sheeter Mukesh Singh Rathore to kill Shalu. Rathore had demanded Rs 10 lakh from him for this work. The accused had given him an advance of 5.5 lakhs. The history-sheeter had also taken the help of some other people for this work. Mukesh Rathore and two other accused Rakesh Singh and Sonu have also been arrested after the matter came to light. Some other accused are absconding and the police is on the lookout for them.
