WFI: In the ongoing fight between the Indian wrestlers and the Wrestling Federation, it was expected today that the President of the Federation Brij Bhushan Singh would present his stand. He had called an executive meeting of the wrestling association in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh on Sunday (January 22), but suddenly the meeting was canceled today. The Sports Ministry has immediately banned the activities of WFI until the investigation into the allegations of the wrestlers is completed, due to which the meeting has now been postponed for 4 weeks. In this fixed meeting, the President of the Federation, Brij Bhushan Singh, was about to present his stand on the allegations leveled against him in front of the executive members.

On Saturday (January 21), the Sports Ministry has suspended Wrestling Federation and its Secretary Vinod Tomar after allegations of harassment and dharna by wrestlers in Delhi. The players had maximum complaints with Vinod Tomar only. The wrestlers had decided to end the strike after a meeting with Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on the previous day. Along with this, the activities of WFI were immediately banned till the completion of the investigation into the allegations of the wrestlers. The Sports Minister had decided to constitute a monitoring committee on this whole matter. This committee will complete its investigation in 4 weeks and investigate the allegations leveled against WFI and its President.

Olympic Association also formed the investigation committee

Wrestlers were continuously protesting on this issue at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. After this the Sports Minister called him and had a conversation. After listening to their demands, assured of quick action. However, when things did not work out, the wrestlers sat on strike the next day as well. Now the Indian Olympic Association took the allegations of the wrestlers seriously and decided to form a seven-member inquiry committee.

Serious allegations have been leveled against the President of Wrestling Federation

Let us tell you that India’s top female and male wrestlers had protested at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar and made serious allegations like sexual exploitation against Wrestling Federation President Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and other office bearers of the federation. However, the Wrestling Federation has presented its stand in front of the Sports Ministry and has denied the claims of the players. Meanwhile, the government has formed an inquiry committee, which will investigate the allegations of the players. Along with this, the functioning of the Wrestling Federation has been suspended.
