There is no proper arrangement to deal with the fire in the hospitals of the capital Bhopal, notice issued




Bhopal Commission’s Notice: The Madhya Pradesh Human Rights Commission has taken cognizance of a report of gross negligence in dealing with fire in 190 hospitals of Bhopal city. According to the report, 190 hospitals in Bhopal do not have proper arrangements to deal with the fire, the fire brigade examined the fire safety of the city’s hospitals, and still, there are about half the hospitals where gross negligence in fire safety was found.

Commission issued notice

In this matter, the Commission has got the Commissioner, Bhopal Division and the Chief Medical and Health Officer, Bhopal, investigating the case, taking prompt action against the hospitals operating in violation of the prescribed standards of fire safety, in order to save the lives of the people present in such hospitals for any reason. The reply has been sought within a month by ensuring security and protection of their related fundamental and human rights. The commission has also said that after the investigation by the fire brigade, the list of hospitals made available to the Chief Medical and Health Officer, Bhopal, should also be sent along with the report.
