Government Scheme: There is caste discrimination in India even after 75 years of independence. Even today there are many people who consider it a sin to marry or get married in another caste. To eliminate this thinking and for inter-caste marriages in the whole country, the government facilitates many schemes. One of such schemes is “Intercaste Marriage Scheme”.
Under this government scheme, an amount of Rs 2.5 lakh is provided to the couple for marrying a woman/man of any other caste. For example, if a general category person marries in another community, then he is given a fixed amount by the government, which is more than Rs 2 lakh. The benefit of this scheme is available only when there is a marriage between an affluent Hindu person and a Scheduled Caste. For which it is also mandatory to register within one year under the Hindu Marriage Act 1955. To take advantage of the scheme, you must have a marriage certificate.
