A day after changing his Twitter bio to ‘disqualified parliamentarian’, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi took to his official Instagram handle to highlight the legacy and strength of the Gandhi family. In this new post, his sister Priyanka Gandhi (Priyanka Gandhi) can be heard remembering Rajiv Gandhi’s last visit. Especially on that day when Rahul was insisting on walking behind the army truck carrying the mortal remains of Rajiv Gandhi. Scenes of the funeral of the former Prime Minister are playing in the background of this video. Posting the video, Rahul Gandhi wrote in the caption, ‘True courage and sacrifice – this is our heritage and this is also our strength.’
Martyr’s son is being called Mir Jafar
The video shows scenes from Rajiv Gandhi’s funeral, in which his body was draped in the tricolor. Lakhs of people participated in Rajiv Gandhi’s last journey of about 10 miles. Recalling that day, Priyanka says, ‘I remember very well how 32 years ago, Rahul insisted on walking behind the army truck carrying my father’s body. He walked behind the truck in the sun. My father’s body was wrapped in the tricolor. You have insulted my father, who sacrificed his life. And… now the son of a martyr is being called a traitor. His patriotism is being questioned. He is called ‘Mir Jafar’.

The blood of the Gandhi family irrigated the country’s democracy
In the next part of the video, a clip of Sunday’s Satyagraha protest plays and Priyanka Gandhi says, ‘BJP insulted her family many times, but no action was taken against them. Those who insult the Gandhi family are not disqualified from the Parliament. Neither they are sent to jail nor they are prevented from contesting elections for years. The blood of my family has irrigated democracy in this country.

PM insulted Gandhi family
Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi said at the Congress Sankalp Satyagraha at Rajghat, ‘The Prime Minister in Parliament asked why this family never used the surname of Nehru. You insult the entire family and the tradition of Kashmiri Pandits. The Congress Sankalp Satyagraha 2019 was organized to protest against the disqualification of Rahul Gandhi as a Lok Sabha MP after his conviction in a defamation case.
