World Disabled Day 2022: World Disabled Day or World Handicapped Day is also called International Day of Persons with Disabilities in English, today on 3rd December 2022, the whole world is celebrating it and talking about supporting and encouraging the disabled people.

Various programs were organized in India today on the occasion of World Disabled Day, President Draupadi Murmu presented the National Awards for 2021 and 2022 for the empowerment of disabled people at Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan on this occasion.

Addressing the Divyangjan and other people present, the President said that today 100 crore people in the world are Divyang in some form or the other, India also has a large number of Divyangjan, today the world is coming forward for their empowerment.

President Draupadi Murmu said that it is the responsibility of all of us, of the entire society, to ensure that all Divyangjans can lead a dignified life independently. They can get good education, good environment, they should have full freedom to take their own decisions.

The President said that in Indian culture and tradition, disability has never been considered as a hindrance in acquiring knowledge and achieving excellence. There are innumerable examples in which our Divyang brothers and sisters have achieved impressive achievements in many fields on the strength of their courage, talent and determination.

Given enough opportunities and right environment, Divyangjan can also excel in every field. At the Tokyo Paralympics, our Para Olympians created history by performing at their best and made India proud.

Education is the key to empowerment of every individual, including persons with disabilities. I believe that in order to overcome language barriers in education and to make education more accessible to children with disabilities, we should make maximum use of technology.

I urge the industrial groups, private organizations and civil society to make efforts to make the infrastructure in their organizations Divyangjan friendly and strive for their empowerment. I appeal to all sections of the society to help Divyangjan to become self-reliant. And inspire you to move forward in life.
