
Employees Old Pension Scheme: Giving great relief to the state employees, the old pension scheme has been implemented in the state. Along with the implementation of the old pension scheme in the state from September 1, the state government had also given approval to the employees to choose the option. On which applications have been made by 90 percent employees of the state to get the old pension scheme. At the same time, the old pension scheme is getting huge public support in the state.
December 31, Last Date of Online Application
All employees covered under the old pension system will come under the ambit of OPS. On the exercise of the Jharkhand government, the state workers are moving fast. According to the data so far, 101412 state employees have applied online on the employee portal. Employees of the State Government appointed after 1 December 2004 are covered under the Pension Scheme. The employees were given a choice between the new pension scheme and the old pension scheme by the state government. Out of total 1 lakh 14 thousand 326 employees, 1 lakh 1 thousand 412 state employees have so far applied for old pension scheme.
At the same time, the last date for online application has been extended till December 31 by the Provident Fund Directorate. Along with this, the letters of the old pension scheme to 1,00,393 employees have been approved by the treasury officials after scrutiny, that is, while approving the old pension scheme for 90 percent of the employees, their GPF deduction has been started. Employees have been paid 1 month’s salary under the old pension scheme only.
The number of employees opting for the new pension scheme is less than 100.
Also, the number of employees opting for the new pension scheme of the state is less than 100. The number of such employees is 68, these are employees who do not fulfill the minimum 10 years of service eligibility under the old pension scheme. Apart from this, such employees also include some who are due to retire from service in 2023-24. The ones are In such a situation, these employees will not get much benefit from the old pension scheme implemented immediately.

Bokaro 5084 applications were received from Out of which GPS of 3535 has been accepted. With all Chaibasa Out of 4553 applicants, 3259 have been selected. Chakradharpur 1016 out of 1103 applicants have been selected while Chatra Out of 3345, 2681 have been approved. Deoghar Approval has been given to 3160 employees out of 3626. Dhanbad Out of 7226 applicants, 5061 applicants have been given the benefit of GPS whereas Dumka Out of 4503 applicants, 4091 have been approved for the old pension scheme. Garhwa Out of 3528 applicants, 2522 have been brought under the purview of the old pension scheme. In such a situation, the total number of applicants is said to be more than 1 lakh.
Preparing for the next phase of movement to bring back NPS money from NSDL
Apart from this, getting back Rs 11448 crore deposited with NSDL after the implementation of the old pension scheme by the state government remains a big challenge. It is difficult to provide pension benefits to the employees without coming into the group provident fund account of the state government. If the state government does not get the same amount, then the employees will be deprived of monthly benefits for the old pension scheme. Meanwhile, Vikrant Kumar Singh, president of the Old Pension Restoration National Movement, says that the old pension scheme is in the interest of the employees as well as the government. Along with this, preparations are being made for the next phase of movement to bring back the NPS money from NSDL. In the new year, a big movement will be organized by the employees including the President of Old Pension Restoration National Movement to bring back the money deposited in NPS.
