
University Employees Strike : On Wednesday, the work came to a standstill in all the universities of Madhya Pradesh due to one-day strike by the employees. They were on strike regarding their five-point demands. The Madhya Pradesh University (Non-Teaching) Employees Union went on collective leave on these five demands –
- The salaries of the permanent employees appointed after the year 2007 have not been paid even after lapse of more than one year, the salaries should be paid immediately.
- Permanent employees working for years on vacant non-academic posts in universities should be regularised.
- The Mediclaim policy approved by the coordination committee in February 2021 should be implemented immediately.
- University pensioners should be immediately paid pension and dearness allowance from the seventh pay scale at par with government employees.
- It is extremely necessary to reconsider the instructions issued in relation to laborious allowance, because there is an important participation of many departments / branches in the proper completion of university examinations, without whose cooperation the examination / evaluation / examination results and other works cannot be completed. Huh. Therefore, after reconsidering the above instructions, new instructions should be issued.
Retired employees and officers of all universities also fully supported this collective holiday. During this, about 25-30 retired employees-officers were present in Barkatullah University and spoke of an indefinite agitation if their demands were not met. General Secretary of Madhya Pradesh University Employees Federation Lakhan Singh Parmar said that this movement has been done to draw the attention of the university administration and Madhya Pradesh government towards their demands and if the demands are not accepted, they will start a phased agitation at the state level.
