Bhopal, Desk Report. In Madhya Pradesh (MP), a committee has been constituted for the determination of mitigation fee on traffic and road safety. In its meeting, preparations are being made to reduce the mitigation fee. Proposals will be ready for this. Which will be placed in the cabinet by the Transport Department (MP Transport). This has been discussed in the sub-committee meeting in the past. Under this, a fine of 1500 rupees can be recovered for not having documents of the vehicle including 250 rupees for those caught without helmets. It is believed that the penalty fee for traffic-related offenses can be reduced.

The sub-committee will also discuss various sections of the Motor Vehicles Act relating to traffic and road safety. Along with this, the determination of compounding fee for offenses, the criteria and the provision of punishment will also be considered. In future, if caught without a helmet, a fine of up to two hundred rupees and if the vehicle documents are not there, a fine of one and a half thousand rupees can be recovered from the driver.

Let us inform that under the present rule, there is a provision of fine of Rs 500 for being caught without a helmet, while a provision has been made to pay a fine of Rs 3000 in case of non-documentation. which can now be reduced. Actually, this preparation is being done by the state government after the directions of the Supreme Court. Under this, the determination of summon fee has been discussed as per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Road and Transport.

Also, in the meeting of that committee, the prescribed criteria of fee and provision of penalty were considered. Apart from this, recommendations have also been made on topics like road safety, road accident control etc. Now on the basis of the recommendation of the meeting of the sub-committee in this matter, the proposal will be presented before the Transport Department. Which will be implemented after approval.
