
Letter to Home Minister Regarding Security of Rahul Gandhi : Congress has written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah raising the issue of lapse in security during Bharat Jodo Yatra. It has been said in the letter that there has been gross negligence in security at many places in Delhi and the Delhi Police has completely failed in this regard. Expressing concern over this, in a letter written by party general secretary KC Venugopal, strict arrangements have been made for the security of Rahul Gandhi.
In a letter to the Union Home Minister, it has been said that ‘Z+ security has been given to Rahul Gandhi but with the aim of harassing the people involved in the yatra and preventing well-known personalities from attending the yatra, the Intelligence Bureau Is questioning them. In this letter, reference has also been made to the police complaint made by the Congress in Gurugram, Haryana. With this, it is written in the letter that ‘under Article 19 of the Constitution, every citizen of India has the right to roam anywhere in the country. Bharat Jodo Yatra is a march being taken out for peace and harmony in the country. The government should not do vendetta politics regarding this and should ensure the safety of Congress leaders.
The Congress has mentioned in its letter that two Prime Ministers of the Congress, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, sacrificed their lives for the country. Now Bharat Jodo Yatra will enter the sensitive states of Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir and full security should be provided during this. Regarding this, the party has demanded immediate steps for the safety of Rahul Gandhi.
