New Delhi:
IPL 2023: BCCI has started preparing for the next season of IPL. Mini auction is to be held for the next season of IPL in this month i.e. on 23 December. BCCI is going to implement a new concept of Impact Player Rules for the next season of IPL. This rule is already in force in sports such as football, rugby, basketball and baseball. The BCCI did its trial on this rule during the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament played in October. This rule will now be seen in IPL as well, but BCCI has given a big blow to foreign players by changing this rule.
Under the Impact rule, no team can make foreign players as impact players, nor can they send foreign players to the field as substitutes. This rule will now only apply to Indian players.

At the same time, the replaced player can bowl his full quota or bat like a new batsman.
Giving information about this rule, the BCCI had said, ‘A concept will be introduced to add a new dimension from IPL 2023, in which one substitute player per team will be able to take a more active part in the IPL match. Rules related to this will be issued soon.
