
Indore : The premises of some businessmen of Indore were raided on the last day by the team of GST department. Actually, the case of tax evasion in almonds and dates being imported from abroad was continuously coming to the fore, after which the GST team raided the places of about 7 businessmen in Siyaganj, Indore. This raid was done last day in the afternoon which lasted till late night. In such a situation, the officials of the GST team conducted an investigation at the shop of betel nut and sugar traders along with dry fruits. This action will continue even today.
According to the information, different teams of around 50 State GST officials came and raided Indore. In such a situation, the shops and firms raided by this team include Mahakal Trading, Damruwala Traders along with others. After importing containers of almonds from abroad, these people supply them to the wholesale traders of Indore and Madhya Pradesh. Apart from this, Indian traders sell the goods under their own name after processing and packing the imported dates.
Whereas Bharat Traders and AD Enterprises used to do the business of betel nut. In such a situation, all of them were suspected of tax evasion, after which the team became active and started the investigation. It is being told that a firm named Haji Aziz & Sons does wholesale business of sugar-coconut. By visiting all these locations, the team of the department has seized the documents and raw slips and started stock matching. Not only Indore, the team of the department has also reached Sehore and Bhopal today to conduct raids.
