This tunnel has been designed on the lines of the London-Paris corridor of ‘Eurostar’. This tunnel is being prepared 33 meters from the ground and 13 meters below the river bed. The tunnel connects East Howrah Maidan to IT hub Salt Lake Sector V in the west. It is expected that trains will start running from the corridor in December 2023.
