New Delhi:
A day after China renamed 11 places in Arunachal Pradesh in its efforts to reassert its claim on Arunachal Pradesh, the Indian government on Tuesday rejected the Chinese move, terming the state as an integral part of the country.
Arindam Bagchi, the official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs, said, “We have seen such reports. This is not the first time China has made such an attempt. We reject it outright. Arunachal integral part of India. Attempting to change the name will not change this reality.
This is the third time China has renamed places in Arunachal Pradesh, which it calls Jangnan, the southern part of Tibet.
The list of names released by China includes five mountain peaks, two land areas, two residential areas and two rivers.
China had earlier released similar lists in 2018 and 2021.
