IMD Weather Update Today : As soon as the cyclonic storm weakened, the weather across the country started changing. On one hand, there is snowfall on the mountains, due to which cold has started increasing in Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, UP, Bihar and Jharkhand and a drop in temperature is also being recorded in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, on the other hand Kerala Karnataka And the rainy season continues in the southern states including Tamil Nadu. Holidays have been declared in many schools in Tamil Nadu. Here, fishermen have also been appealed not to go near the sea.
The Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted moderate to heavy rains in Tamil Nadu for the next two days. Due to heavy rains, a holiday has been declared for schools in Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur and Villupuram districts of Tamil Nadu today. Till December 13, there may be rain in some parts of North Madhya Maharashtra. Mumbai will be cloudy with isolated light rain. Partly cloudy skies are expected in the districts of Kota and Udaipur divisions of South Rajasthan on 12 and 13 December. However, the weather would remain dry over the rest of the state.
Area of cyclonic winds will be formed on Tuesday
According to the Meteorological Department and Skymet Weather, a cyclonic circulation is likely to form over South Andaman Sea around December 13. Light to moderate rain with one or two heavy spells very likely over Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, Karnataka and south coast of Kerala today, December 12. Telangana, South Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Marathwada, South Konkan and Goa, South Central Light rain may occur in parts of Maharashtra and Odisha. Light rain may occur over Umaria, Damoh, Jabalpur, Katni, Mandla, Narsinghpur, Betul, Hoshangabad, Khandwa and Khargone along with eastern and southern parts of Madhya Pradesh on December 12 and 13.
Snowfall on mountains, rain alert in 15 states
There are chances of rain with snowfall in the mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Ladakh, Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand for the next few days. There is a possibility of further drop in temperature in many states including Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand. According to IMD, a cyclonic wind area is likely to form over South Andaman Sea around Tuesday, December 13 with wind speed reaching 35 to 45 kmph till December 13. There is a possibility of heavy rains in Andaman and Nicobar on 14 and 15 December. During December 15, an alert for heavy rain has also been issued in the East Central and adjoining Southeast Arabian Sea.
