Husband serving life sentence for wife’s murder appeals in High Court, innocent acquitted




Jabalpur Wife Murder Case High Court: A man serving life sentence for the murder of his wife has been acquitted by the High Court after declaring him innocent. It is being told that Manoj alias Guddi Singh had appealed in the High Court challenging the verdict after getting life imprisonment from the district court in the case of wife’s murder. The High Court after hearing set aside the order of the District Court giving benefit of doubt to the appellant.

Let us tell you that Manoj alias Guddi Singh had appealed in the High Court challenging the verdict after getting life imprisonment from the District Court in the case of wife’s murder. It was stated on behalf of the petitioner that he was married to Sangeeta in the year 2005. Sangeeta committed suicide on 12 May 2008 by setting the house on fire. In the post mortem report, the cause of death was said to be a rupture of the windpipe. After which, on the complaint of family members, the court had punished him with life imprisonment. After which the husband challenged this decision in the High Court.

The facts came to the fore during the hearing

The couple’s bench found during the hearing that the relatives of the deceased had alleged that the husband of the deceased had demanded a motorcycle and had beaten his wife for not getting the money, while the warts of the deceased have said in their statement that the applicant had committed suicide at 12 midnight. Sangeeta came and informed about the fire. When he reached the spot, the door was locked from inside. By breaking which they went inside, till then he had died due to burning. The map of the crime scene made by the police said that there was only one door to go inside the house. Which was closed from inside and locked. The Division Bench, in its order, observed that the prosecution was successful in establishing that the cause of death was asphyxiation. Carbon particles have not been found in the lungs. There was only one door to enter the house, which was closed and locked from inside.
