Prayagraj (Allahabad), Desk Report. The Allahabad High Court of Uttar Pradesh has quashed the notification of the UP government in which 18 castes of OBCs were included in the SC.
Allahabad High Court gave a big decision today. A double bench of Chief Justice Rajesh Bindal and Justice JJ Munir, while hearing public interest litigations, quashed the notification of the Uttar Pradesh government. An organization of Gorakhpur had filed a petition against the notification of the government.
In fact, two public interest litigations had been filed by the Allahabad High Court by Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Library and Jan Kalyan Samiti, an institution of Gorakhpur, in which it was said that the central or state government does not have the right to take such a decision in the Constitution. After the hearing, the High Court quashed the notifications.
Let us tell you that the previous Akhilesh Yadav government of Uttar Pradesh and the present Yogi Adityanath government had issued two notifications each during their tenure, in which 18 castes of OBC were included in the SC category.
