After the announcement of the Chief Minister on August 15, now there will be an informal discussion on the payment of arrears of revised salary to the employees in the cabinet meeting to be chaired by Jai Ram Thakur of Himachal Pradesh. In this regard, the Finance Department has fixed the formula for payment of arrears and sent the file to the Chief Minister for approval.
The Finance Department has prepared a proposal to make lump sum payment of arrears to class IV employees. The formula for payment in installments to other category workers has been fixed. It has been decided to give arrears of new pay scale to the employees in the state from January 2016. After informal discussion on this issue in the cabinet, the Finance Department will issue a notification regarding this. Arrears payment to pensioners will also be assessed.
Apart from this, a decision can also be taken on increasing the dearness allowance of employees by 3%. As recently the Additional Chief Secretary Finance had indicated this. He had assured the union leaders that the state government would issue an order to increase the dearness allowance next month, while the arrears of the revised pay scale would be available in September. 2.25 lakh employees and 1.90 lakh pensioners will get the benefit of this. The second installment of the new pay scale can also be decided.

According to media reports, after preparing the formula for giving arrears, the Finance Department has sent its file to the Chief Minister’s Office. Under this, the full arrears of the new pay scale i.e. one to two lakh rupees will be given to the fourth class employees. It will be given. It is believed that according to different levels of employees, it can be 10 to 18% of the total arrears. Under the revised pay scale, the Himachal Pradesh government can give the first installment of arrears of Rs 50 to 75 thousand to the third class personnel and 30 to 50 thousand rupees in the first installment to the first and second class officers.
