Forced marriage of a minor in Indore, case registered against 7 people after complaint




Indore Crime News: Information about the forced marriage of a minor girl has come to the fore in the city. The girl has filed a case accusing her family and in-laws. On the complaint of the girl, the police have registered a case under the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act.

The girl told that her aunt, grandmother, brother and other family members forcefully got her married to a youth named Darbar Singh living in Ujjain, who is twice her age. After being forced to stay in her in-laws house for 4 months, she returned home and filed a complaint against everyone. Considering the seriousness of the matter, the Palasia Police has made a case against 7 people.

On the complaint of the girl, the police presented her before Childline and Child Welfare Committee. After questioning here, the girl gave information regarding the treatment meted out to her. After which a young man has been arrested and action is being taken against a total of 7 people including the girl’s father, brother and some people from her in-laws side.

This is not the first time such a case has come to the fore in Indore. Even before this, the incident of forced marriage of some minor girls has been seen in the city. On many occasions, the police have also stopped the marriage of minors. Now once again the police helped the girl by becoming helpful and taking action against those who forced her to marry.
