Food department raid on Mawa factory, seized goods worth more than 2 lakhs

Ujjain News: Police raided the Mawa manufacturing factory in Baragaon under Bhatpachlana near Nagda in Ujjain. Mawa, ghee, cream and sodium worth more than two lakhs have been seized from here and samples have been sent for investigation.

The team of food officers and the police have jointly carried out this action. This action has been taken on a factory named Mangalam Foods in Baragaon of Khachrod. Due to the apprehension of spurious ghee and mawa, this action has been taken.

250 kg mawa worth Rs 75 thousand, 210 kg ghee worth one lakh 26 thousand, 100 kg cream worth Rs 25 thousand and sodium worth Rs 3600 have also been seized from the spot. Samples of all things have been sent to Bhopal for investigation. The factory has also been sealed and further action will be taken after the report comes.

In this case, Food Officer Basant Sharma said that action was taken in the apprehension of fake Mawa and goods worth more than 2 lakhs have been seized. Samples have been sent to Bhopal, whose investigation report may take a month to come. After that further action will be taken.
