In fact, the matter pertains to the village of Kumhari police station area of Damoh district when a leopard was being taken to Jabalpur for treatment in critical condition but it died on the way. The villagers saw a leopard crossing the road, which created a stir. Whose information was immediately given by the people to the forest department. During this, the people present there also made a video of it. Here, the team reached the spot as soon as they got the information. After which they started the search operation, the leopard was found in the village and till evening it was claimed that it had fled into the forest and was not a threat. Meanwhile, the leopard was seen coming and going in the village itself. People were seen pelting bricks and stones at him from the roofs of the houses, the video of which has also surfaced.
Leopard attacked the watchman
After which the leopard attacked a watchman of the forest department. While saving his life in this attack, Chowkidar Pratap Singh also attacked the leopard. The already injured leopard became more serious and along with it the watchman was also injured. The forest department admitted the injured watchman to the district hospital late on Saturday night. From where the forest staff was taking him to Jabalpur after first aid, but the leopard died on the way.
Forest officials gave information
According to forest officials, the leopard appeared to be weak but there were no visible signs of injury. As per rules, he was being taken for treatment but he could not save the leopard. At present, the condition of the watchman who encountered the leopard in the district hospital also remains critical. At the same time, the postmortem of the dead leopard will be done in Jabalpur on Sunday. For which Damoh’s DFO M.S.
