Damoh : The matter of conversion in Damoh has been in constant discussion for the last few days. Continuous protests are being held when the accused are not arrested. Now the National Child Rights and Protection Commission has sent a summon to Damoh SP regarding this matter. In which it has been said by the National Commission for Child Rights and Protection that the action which was ordered to the police and the administration has not been done. Along with this, the information about the action being taken in this matter was also asked to be given to the commission but it was not given. That’s why the SP has been called to the commission office after taking details of the action taken against the accused. In such a situation, if the SP does not go there on the pretext of some work, then it has been said in this summon that action will be taken against him.

In such a situation, when the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights took cognizance of the complaint in the matter of conversion, it came to light that works like illegal conversion and sexual harassment of minor girls are being done by a priest of a Kerala Missionary Institute located in Damoh, Madhya Pradesh.

The Commission had issued orders to investigate the matter under Section 13(1) of the CPCR Act, 2005. Along with this, Superintendent of Police Damoh was asked to present the status report of the case on 22/11/2022. But this did not happen and the SP failed to submit the details of the action taken by the police including the arrest of the accused.

In such a situation, now the SP along with the accused has been asked to appear on Monday, December 5, 2022, along with the details of the accused arrested in this case and the relevant records/documents mentioned in the previous notice of the Commission. Also asked to explain the clear reason for not following the order in this matter. Along with this, it has also been said that if he fails to come without any legal excuse then action will be taken against him.
