This announcement has been made by the Chief Minister on the occasion of State Police Day, which will benefit thousands of employees.
Actually, the age limit for the appointment of constable will be increased from 27 years to 30 years. Also relaxation in physical capacity and efficiency will be given in case of compassionate appointment. Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said that in the case of compassionate appointment, physical ability, age limit efficiency is seen, but after the death of a policeman, it will now be exempted under the special category. Along with this, making a big announcement on promotion, he said that Civic Volunteer, Civil Defense Home Guard were eligible to apply for promotion till the age of 27 years but now it will be extended. Actually the age limit for promotion has been increased to 35 years.

Not only this, an increase has also been announced in the salary of class IV employee. The Chief Minister said that where Rs 11,500 was provided to the driver of Kolkata Police and Rs 13500 to the driver of Bengal Police. Now Kolkata Police Driver will be provided Rs.13500 with an increase of Rs.2000 while Bengal Police Driver will be provided Rs.15000 with an increase of Rs.1500.
It has also been said that priority should be given to the drivers working on the same contract in the field of temporary jobs. Not only this, an increase in uniform allowance has been announced for all police personnel from the rank of constable to inspector from next year. An increase has also been announced in the recruitment of ACP and DCP rank officers, in fact it has been announced to give them Rs 15000 per year, while the uniform allowance for Inspector is Rs 10,000, Sub Inspector Rs 7500, SI Rs 6000 available.
