CG Weather Update: The Mandaus storm is currently active in the Bay of Bengal. Due to this, there are light clouds in the state. Due to the moisture, a drop of 1 to 2 degrees has been recorded in the night temperature, but in the morning an atmosphere of mist was seen. Temperatures were above normal in the central and southern parts of Chhattisgarh while cold wave is being observed in the northern regions. This is happening due to the cold winds coming from the north and moist air from the sea is also continuously coming.
According to meteorologist HP Chandra, a large amount of cold air is coming from the north. Because of this, the weather had suddenly turned very cold. On Friday, due to the impact of cyclonic storm Mandaus, there will be an increase in the minimum temperature, due to which the effect of cold will be less visible. On Thursday, there was a lot of cold in the weather due to which people were seen chilling. Its special effect was seen in the township area, even on normal days the temperature here remains 2 degree Celsius less than Patripara, Thursday was the coldest here.
Cyclonic storm Mandaus was formed over southwest Bay of Bengal and is moving towards northwest Bay of Bengal at a speed of about 12 kmph. It is expected to remain strong till December 9. Thereafter, it will weaken slightly and approach North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, South Andhra Pradesh and Harikota near Machilipatnam. On December 9, most of the areas of Chhattisgarh will be cloudy, which will give some relief from the cold. Chances of light rain have also been expressed in Bijapur, Sukma and Dantewada areas.
