On the first day of the year 2023 i.e. on January 1, there was a review meeting of BCCI. The meeting was attended by President Roger Binny, Secretary Jai Shah, NCA chief VVS Laxman, chief selector Chetan Sharma, coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma. This meeting was done to review the T20 World Cup played last year. In which some big decisions have been taken under ODI World Cup 2023. India will host the ODI World Cup. Whose preparations are going on fast. The World Cup is very important for Team India, captained by Rohit Sharma. In such a situation, now it has to be seen how much color these preparations bring in the World Cup.
It has been decided in the review meeting that yo-yo test and dexa test will be implemented. After the implementation of these two tests, entry into Team India will not be easy. Because there is a test of fitness and strength of the players. BCCI had to implement both these tests also because the players were constantly getting injured. From the new blueprint, you can understand that there is focus on the fitness of the players and focus on the workload roadmap.

What is yo-yo test and how is it done?
NCA panel declares players fit to play through yo-yo test. Players have to pass yo-yo test in NCA. The yo-yo test is totally dependent on technique. In the yo-yo test, there is a cone at 20 meters, in which the players have to run. If the players are successful in running well then the NCA panel passes the players. After which you can take entry in Team India. After many times even some veteran players are not able to pass this test. After failing in this test, players are not able to enter Team India.

What is Dexa scan and how is it done?
Dexa scan is a proposed international standard. Body composition and bone health are measured through a Dexa scan. The timing of this test is 10 minutes. Bone mass, fat tissue and muscles are examined in a Dexa scan. Along with Yo-Yo test, BCCI has also made Dexa scan mandatory. Now players will have to go through this test to get entry in Team India.
