New Delhi:
India vs Pakistan Asia Cup 2023: The ongoing dispute between the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) over the hosting of the Asia Cup seems to be increasing. If Pakistan does not want the tournament to be held at a neutral venue, then Team India will not go on the Asia Cup tour to Pakistan. BCCI secretary and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chief Jay Shah has already made it clear that Team India will not tour Pakistan for the Asia Cup. Now a reaction has also come from the new PCB chief Najam Sethi.

According to reports, Najam Sethi has told Jay Shah that Pakistan will not allow the Asia Cup to be hosted and if the tournament is held elsewhere, the Pakistan team will not tour India for this year’s ODI World Cup. Earlier, former PCB chief Rameez Raja had also given a similar threat to India.

Pakistan kept its side
A PCB source told that during the ACC Executive Board meeting held in Bahrain on Saturday, Najam Sethi put forward his stand and he told Jay Shah that Pakistan should retain the hosting rights of the Champions Trophy in the Asia Cup 2023 or 2025. Will not let go. The source said, “Najam Sethi has made his stand clear. He had also met the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif on Tuesday. He said that the Asia Cup is a multi-team tournament and the Pakistan government is ready to give security assurance to the Indian team. After this, there is no reason why the BCCI should not send the team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup in September.”
The source further said that if the BCCI does not send Team India to Pakistan for the Asia Cup with the permission of its government, then the Pakistan team will also not tour India for the ODI World Cup to be held in October-November. Now there will be another meeting of ACC in March and then further decisions will be taken on this issue.
