Balaghat Strike News : In Balaghat district of Madhya Pradesh, the strike of sisters Asha and Sahyogini, who are being financially exploited by half the incentive amount, continued for the sixth day on December 28, despite having completed half a hundred works of the health department. On the demand of complete incentive amount and regularization, Asha and Sahyogini sisters took out a rally on Wednesday, December 28 and handed over a memorandum to the district administration in the name of the Chief Minister, demanding redressal of their demands.
Significantly, due to the strike of Asha and Sahyogini, the major works related to the health department, Ayushman survey, Kovid vaccination, M.R. Survey, distribution of mosquito nets, T.B. Case, JS. Y, H.B.M.C. Other works including Mizzles, Booster, Iron Sucrose, Family Planning LTT, CTT, NSV have come to a standstill.
After the indefinite strike of contract health workers, the strike of Asha and Sahyogini sisters has increased the difficulties of the health department in the district. Locks are hanging in the health centers in the rural areas, then the whole system has collapsed due to the strike of the sisters who take health facilities to the common people.
Sister is struggling with financial problem
Under the leadership of Asha Karyakartas and Sahyogini Sangh District President Sushila Vatti, Asha and Sahyogini sisters have been sitting on an indefinite strike since last December 23 in the hospital premises. District President Sushila Vatti says that this strike will continue until the government, administration and department pay attention to our demands. He said that from the district level itself, the incentive amount received by the department under the works is not given to them in full, half of the amount is deducted, in such a situation, they are facing financial problems due to not getting the full amount despite the work.
Assured action on those responsible
He said that a memorandum was also submitted to AYUSH Minister Ramkishore Kavre in the past. In which within a week, he had assured to complete the incentive amount and take action on the responsibilities. Even that doesn’t seem to be being implemented. From which it seems that the government, administration and department are not serious about the problems of Asha and Sahyogini sisters. Angered by this, today on the sixth day of the movement, he reached the district administration through a rally to hand over the memorandum to the CM. Our agitation will continue till our demands are not fulfilled.
